FINALLY (WHAT IS BETTER THAN ONE RAINBOW?) FRIDAY!!
A double rainbow!! For those who know me, I love rainbows. I always have. They fascinate me. And they are beautiful. As I became an adult, rainbows have taken on a whole new meaning to me. Our first child was born in the coldest part of the winter.....in fact, it snowed the day he came home from the hospital. That being said, it was beyond belief that we saw a rainbow in the sky the afternoon he was born. Smack dab in the middle of the winter. Rare to say the least. We all knew this was not a coincidence. You see Macgyver's father passed away when he was 19. He was a great man and dearly missed to many. We named our first son after him. I spent 3 days in labor with him and he was born almost 6 weeks early. It was a scary, yet exciting time in our lives. But there in the midst, we were given a reminder of His love and provision. We were given a peaceful reminder that all things happen in His time and for His purpose. A promise that he stands on day after day. He never changes. He never leaves us. And that, my friends, is no coincidence.
Today happened to be my birthday and here in the south we don't usually see rainbows past August or so. I was so excited to share this double rainbow with my kids. I always remind them that rainbows are a symbol God gave to Noah after the 40 days and 40 nights of rain. It is a symbol of His promise and by far quite a remarkable one. I know that it was not coincidence to see this double rainbow today. I was resisting this birthday like no other......frustrated, sad and depressed about it....but really for no reason....just selfishness. This gift in the sky reminded me that I should count it all as joy......rejoice in today and seek Him every day. He definitely got my attention today. Check out the beauty of these pictures!
Stay at home mom and higher education instructor to 3 joyful princes and 1 lovely princess (all under 8!). Married to the love of my life that I have known since Kindergarten. We have a full, but never dull house and love every minute of it!
I am so fortunate to spend my life with my hubby! He is the love of my life and most wonderful father to our children! We have known each other since Kindergarten and I love him more and more each day! He is intelligent, funny, compassionate, dedicated and loving.
Bottle Rocket
This first born, high energy 8th grader is always ready to go! He likes to take charge and has "perfected" the management of his younger brothers and sister. Always there to lend a hand, curious and studious, Bottle Rocket is strong and ambitious. His is funny and compassionate, he never meets a stranger, nor is he afraid to ask questions to get the low down! His hobbies include baseball and riding dirt bikes.
Smoke Bomb
Passionate, loving, intense and persistent, Smoke Bomb makes his presence known in any room. He will always find a way to make sure his side is understood. He is quiet by nature until he warms up. This dimpled 11 year old likes to be organized and routine. He loves deeply, plays hard and thinks outside the box. If something can be taken apart he is the first on scene! His interest include baseball, fixing things and riding dirt bikes.
Fire Cracker
Third born and third boy. He might be the youngest gent, but he lights up the show! Fire Cracker is affectionate and joyful, constantly smiling or laughing. As a spunky 9 year old, he has learned to stand up for himself, yet still loves the attention from his brothers. He is cuddly and compassionate, always up for a hug. Fire Cracker is either on or off - plenty of energy for us all!
Sparkler
Last born and the only girl, Sparkler is the littlest, but large as life! At the age of 7, she stays busy watching her brothers and learning super fast! Her most notable traits are the dimpled smile and baby blue eyes. She is laid back and calm-natured, which is not a surprise considering the (organized) chaos she is surrounded by each day! Don't be fooled though, she has a feisty side to get things done. Sparkler is quite independent and sure to make her mark on the path of life!
